DINNER AT THE TWITS - The Vaults in Waterloo, London, September to October 2016
Bompas & Parr collaborated with an interactive theatre group to present a dining experience with a difference: at the table of Roald Dahl's most revolting protaganists Mr and Mrs Twit.
The dinner promised a good helping of bird pie at the centre of a gruesome medley of disgusting dishes washed down with homemade cocktails, Mr Twit’s special brew and Mrs Twit’s potent punch - reminding guests to fish the glass eye out of your glass before drinking.
Set inside the appalling characters' windowless house and ghastly garden it was a grown-up journey (no chiddlers allowed!) down memory lane that was not for the faint of heart or soft of stomach, promising a range of immersive theatrical moments recreating the vibe of two of Roald Dahl's most notorious characters!
The reinvention of these horrid hosts into society darlings came courtesy of a collaboration with interactive theatre company Les Enfants Terribles, creature wranglers Creature of London and live entertainment company ebp as part of the celebrations marking Roald Dahl's 100th birthday and the very first time one of Dahl’s titles has been adapted into a production specifically for adults.
