2020 sees Belgravia celebrate its fifth year of the biggest floral festival in London, Belgravia in Bloom, and this year’s installations will see a world-first where flowers will literally glow.
Exploring the relationship man has with the natural world, Belgravia’s annual floral festival will this year be themed ‘The Future of Flowers’.
Taking place from 18-23 May 2020, Belgravia will transform into a blooming display of flowers at every turn, providing an immersive experience that will awaken all senses and have you momentarily stepping out of London and into a world of possibilities.
Coinciding with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, we have worked with Grosvenor Britain & Ireland to develop a futuristic and unique experience that explores the profound and all-important future of the human relationship with flowers across installations in Belgravia, navigated by a scented map.
In Eccleston Yards, visitors can enter the extraordinary Floral Imaginarium, an interactive pavilion where visitors can see a world where flowers will glow. Visitors will be able to see the first naturally glowing floral display, seeing the powerful potential that flowers could have in the future of illumination with their own eyes. The unique installation takes inspiration from the developing research from experts, proving that plants can be bio-engineered to glow and be used as a light source. This breakthrough could influence how we look to illuminate spaces in the future, and create an environmentally sustainable way of lighting.
