Art Night - Phillips Auction, London, June 2016
Bompas & Parr curated a feast for the inaugural gala dinner of Art Night, a new contemporary arts festival curated by the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), supported by Phillips auction house. The festival transforms iconic, cultural venues throughout central London by showcasing international artists' work across the spectrum of art, architecture, dance and music.
The inspiration for the menu came from the sensual overload of traversing London's streets bynight, exploring art, fashion, architecture, human interaction and debauchery, as interpreted by the world of the flâneur.
Amid that concept, Bompas & Parr served a Louis Roederer Champagne-paired menu, including its iconic Cristal variant, against pairings such as octopus tentacles, Short Rib and Eton Mess. The meal ended on the psychoactive high of a Rob Roy cocktail infused with wormwood, one of the botanicals in absinthe thought to induce hallucinations, as if all our guests had spent a night on the tiles.
