Infinity Pleasure Pod
The world's first bio-responsive food installation - World Tour, May-September 2012
MAGNUM INFINITY PLEASURE POD -
WORLD TOUR MAY, SEPTEMBER 2012
The Magnum Infinity Pleasure Pod represents the world's first bio-responsive food installation. It is the culmination of a six-month research project with neuroscientists from the Wellcome Trust led by Dr Ben Seymour.
Visitors step inside the Infinity Pleasure Pod with a complex array of bio-sensing equipment attached to their head. This registers the pleasure experienced as a Magnum Infinity is consumed using skin tension, facial expression, deglutition (swallowing) and heartbeat data. The information is used for a generative artwork by Matt Pearson. This is projected onto the interior of the pod creating a feedback loop geared to the act of eating itself and what’s going on inside your body.
