MT. ROCKY - ALTON TOWERS, April 2012

Mt. Rocky was the worlds first chocolate-based climbing wall and largest scratch-n-sniff structure. The installation and Alton Towers theme park ride presented a 32' tall chocolate-centric climbing tower in the form of a Rocky biscuit bar. Mt. Rocky featured a cascading four tonne chocolate waterfall flowing at a rate of 70,000 litres an hour, chocolate grotto and scratch-n-sniff chocolate scented seating areas.

To build Mt. Rocky, Bompas & Parr worked with food technologists, engineers, a rollercoaster designer, sound artists, fashion designers and a team of the UKs top climbing instructors. Mt. Rocky was launched by celebrity acrophobic Peter Andre who conquered his fear of heights on the wall. Watch the action here.
