Remy Martin asked Bompas & Parr to capture its update range of signature cognac cocktails and communicate its brand motif in an unusual visual style. On the back of a wider campaign that epitomised the idea of modern-day ‘slash’ lifestyles – where more and more people define themselves by two or more skills or abilities (e.g. actress/model), the challenge was how to tell this story in a way that communicated how cognac cocktails were relevant to a new generation of drinkers.

The chosen route saw us integrate the idea of ‘god rays’ in the lighting style for each drink, inspired by the rays of light that appear to come from the heavens, creating atmospheric and dramatic shots that created a literal slash across the pictures. Paired with our creative direction for the shoot, including styling each drink and carefully choosing the glassware, props and table setting, the resulting collection both modernised Remy Martin as a brand and allowed it to continue the narrative of its wider 'slash' campaign.
