Celebrate ‘Cry January’ at the UK’s first Cabaret of Death since 1954

London, 2024: Bompas & Parr presents Cabinets of Death at The Last Tuesday Society. This comprises an exhibition, cocktailarium and conversation menus inspired by and launching the new publication Cabarets of Death by Mel Gordon and Joanna Ebenstein and published by Strange Attractor Press.

We’ll be curating an exhibition, death-based bar and convocation inspired by the eerie cabaret restaurants of 19th century in Paris' Montmartre. The experience launches on 15th January, following ‘Blue Monday’ the saddest day of the year, and open to the public from 16th January.

Book a standard reservation here any date between and including 16th January - 18th February 2024.

Cry January

January is an infamously difficult month for people: A mixture of hope for the future that is wrestled with regret, financial trickery, and the come down from the festive season. Along with this, the reduced sunlight and cooler temperatures of winter seem to play into what causes SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) or “winter depression”.

To help cure this, we give guests the chance to revel in it rather than resist it. Rather than shunning alcohol for the month in Dry January, we invite them to connect with their feelings of regret and grief by being part of ‘Cry January’.
