The world's first Fireworks Blasting Chamber

Bompas & Parr created the world's first Architectural Blasting Chamber at their studio in Bermondsey to celebrate 20 years of the London Festival of Architecture.

The chamber experience offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to safely stand at the heart of your own firework display. Participants had the opportunity to feel the adrenaline and joy of being at the heart of a firework as mesmerising sparks and fountains flew and crackled around them.

Guests were invited to don bespoke regalia designed to withstand temperatures of up to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

The experience included a fireworks crafting workshop, a historic firework design exhibition, a gallery of the Architectural Firework competition entries, and much more!

A portion of the ticket was donated to Maggie’s, a charity that offers the best possible and free support to anyone with cancer and their families who walk through their doors.
