Mr. Twit's Odious Ale
A disgustingly tasty beer
London, 2016: For the gloriously gruesome theatrical dining experience Dinner at the Twits, Bompas & Parr teamed up with 40FT Brewery to create Mr Twit’s Odious Ale.
With the permission of the Roald Dahl Estate, we entered Roald Dahl’s writing shed and swabbed his writing chair, and the dirt, dust, microbes and bacteria were sprinkled into the mix, adding a personal touch of the best-selling children's author into the brew. The ruse was doubly appropriate in the centenary of Roald Dahl's birth.
Mr Twit’s Odious Ale was brewed to the Polish Grätzen style with oak smoked wheat malt using a smoker normally used for barbecuing meat - making this beer unusually unsuitable for vegetarians. A light golden colour with a relatively high carbonation, Grätzen is sometimes known as Polish Champagne.
