Studio Manager

You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the studio, focusing on facilities management, HR support. Contributing to the seamless functioning of the creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the studio, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient working
  • Manage studio supplies, insurances, equipment, and maintenance, coordinating with vendors and service providers as necessary.
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a safe workplace.
  • Oversee and ensure the efficient operation of IT systems, coordinating with our external IT support to resolve any technical issues promptly.
  • Plan and manage studio space allocation and layout to optimise productivity and
  • Line management of the studio intern, ensuring the daily studio activities and
  • Manage the studio budgets to ensure studio resources are appropriately managed and allocated.
  • Monitor studio systems and workflows, ensuring operational efficiency and proactively addressing potential issues

Studio Operations

  • Manage the studio’s day-to-day operations, coordinating resources and maintaining all aspects of the studio environment.
  • Ensure the studio meets operational standards, from aesthetics to functionality, adjusting for any upcoming events or deadlines.
  • Supporting on internal studio events
  • Manage contracts and relationships with service providers and suppliers to ensure best practices and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate with leadership to forecast resource needs and align the facilities operations with the studio’s ongoing projects.

HR Recruitment:

  • Assist the Studio & Operations Director with resource allocations, attending the weekly resource meeting, playing a pivotal role in the seamless resourcing across the B&P
  • Coordinate job postings, liaise with recruitment agencies, and assist in shortlisting candidates.
  • Conduct initial CV and portfolio reviews, arrange interviews, and provide administrative support to streamline the hiring process
  • Collaborate with the wider studio to understand staffing needs and provide administrative support during the hiring process.
  • Support the onboarding process by preparing necessary documentation, conducting orientation, and ensuring new hires are integrated smoothly into the team.
  • Facilitate employee engagement through the administration of benefits, wellbeing programs, and ongoing communication with the HR team.
  • Act as a liaison for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and performance, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Maintaining the B&P freelance database, with ongoing active cv and portfolio evaluation and interviews.

 

About You

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience (2-5 years) in a fast-paced creative studio, with a focus on facilities management and HR support.
  • Strong experience in managing HR recruitment, from job posting to onboarding, including freelancer management.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of staff and external partners.
  • Experience in handling HR-related inquiries and maintaining compliance with relevant employment regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with HR software, project management tools, and resource planning systems.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, with a demonstrated ability to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively to anticipate needs and resolve issues

  • To be able to speak knowledgeably and articulately about all aspects of the work of Bompas & Parr and to support the organisation’s principal aims and objectives
  • To communicate regularly and effectively with the Directors and to seek support from appropriate staff at the earliest opportunity should problems arise

Please note, due to the nature of the role you will be expected to work occasional evenings and weekends. There may also be the requirement to travel internationally.
